The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the only-begotten Son of God,

begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light,

Very God of Very God,

begotten, not made,

being of one substance with the Father

by whom all things were made;

who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven,

and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary,

and was made man,

and was crucified also for us

under Pontius Pilate.

He suffered and was buried,

and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,

and ascended into heaven,

and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead,

whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,

the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father (and the Son),

who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified,

who spoke by the prophets.

And we believe one holy catholic

and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism

for the remission of sins.

And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

우리는 전능하신 아버지이신 유일하신 하나님, 곧 하늘과 땅, 모든 보이는 것과 보이지

않는 것의 창조주를 믿습니다.

또한 유일하신 주님이신 예수 그리스도를

믿사오니, 그분은 하나님의 독생자이시며,

만물에 앞서 성부로부터 탄생하셨고,

신(神)의 신, 빛의 빛이시며,

참 신중의 참 신이시며,

탄생하셨고, 피조되지 않으셨으며,

성부와 동일 본질이시며,

만물은 그로부터 창조되었습니다.

그분께서는 우리 인간들과 우리의 구원을

위하여 하늘로부터 내려오셨고,

성령을 통하여 동정녀 마리아로부터

성육신(成肉身)하셔서

인간이 되셨으며,

그분은 또한 우리를 위하여

본디오 빌라도에게 십자가에 달리셨고,

고난을 받으시고 무덤에 묻히셨으나,

제삼일째 되는 날, 성서의 말씀에 따라

다시 살아나셨고,

하늘로 올라가셔서,

성부 하나님 오른편에 앉으셨습니다.

그분께서는 장차 산 자와 죽은 자를

심판하러 영광 가운데 다시 오실 것이며,

그분의 통치는 영원할 것입니다.

우리는 성령을 믿사오니,

그분은 주님이시며, 생명을 주시는 분이시며성부와 (성자로부터) 유출되시며,

성부와 성자와 더불어

예배와 영광을 받으시고,

과거에는 예언자들을 통하여 말씀하셨습니다.

우리는 유일하고 거룩하며 보편적이며

사도전승의 교회를 믿사오며,

죄사함을 위한

유일한 세례를 인정하고,

죽은자 가운데서의 부활과 미래 세계에서 다시 살 것을 고대합니다. 아멘.
